lizzi photagraphy

sketch
I haven't been designing for ages since my career switch and when the opportunity to brand my sis, I say why not. The good part about designing for family is the lax in the deadline and the ease to think up a logo because I pretty much grew up with her.  I made a few sketches and was inspired with a polaroid picture as a logo. I played around some more in illustrator and the final product is what you see below. The coolest thing about the logo is you can dissect the design in many parts, but it can still be referenced as the original logo because it's part symbol and signature.  I also had a hefty task in creating a logo, banner and disc cover.  It's been met with positive results and woo hoo, happy!  Click here to peruse around her blog.

hello kitty art

I happened to partake in Sanrio's 50th Anni and enjoyed some cutesy art.
my fav
My favorite piece from the show since scuba diving is one of my passions. Since I can remember, I was intruiged by the underwater world and this painting brings out the diver in me.
last supper kitty style
Another take of the Last Supper and so funny I might add. Too bad Ahiru No Pekkle was not invited.
surrealism
What a fun garden!  Imagine if this place existed at the L.A. Getty and a picnic would be planned.
Please click here for some more ARt.  I apologize for not crediting the artists, I was not able to jot down their names.

happy birthday owl

owl card
I made this card for a little boy's birthday. I used scrapped paper and my sis's cricket machine, which is a great invention by the way. The cricket can cut out many character designs and fonts to my liking and anyone can make all sorts of paper things.

flower badge, version two

dilantinflower badges

It took a while to make these badge holders since I had to save the medicine caps. I also was picky in what type of color I would save and I also had to get some badge holders to glue the flowers too. Woo hoo, I was able to make 4 flower badges this time around. Two are gifts and the other two are mine. I've had issues on one of the badges where the flower came off. The ones I gave away reported no problems, so it must be me. I do tend to be a little rough with my belongings.

ceramics

Summer has ended, and so has my ceramics class. I was taking ceramics for about 2 months during the summer because it's something I have always wanted to do. I never got around to it because life gets hectic and it seems I was busy doing mundane things, well I did get scuba certified, so not sooo mundane. This summer, I made it a thing to do, which is to go to my ceramic classes every Tuesday night at my local art center. The pics above are some bowls on the wheel, pinch pots and finished products. Click here for my flickr album to see some bowls and my lack of progression in my ceramics class. Making a bowl is one of the most frustrating and difficult things to do. I'm pretty creative and intuitive with drawing and designing, but sculpting a perfect bowl was utterly tasking. I'm so proud to make so many imperfect ones to achieve at least some decent looking bowls. I still have 6 finished bowls being cooked as we speak. I will post then up when they are in my hands.

love cardmaking

love1

I heart making paper things. The love card was all made from scrap paper leftovers. I have a sister who loves scrapbooking and she had these lux paper just waiting for me to make a card out of it. Well, any chance for me to get creative I will do. It took me about 1 hour to create, from idea to the final product.

diy badge holders

flower badge holders
The badges above are homemade by moi. I cannot take any credit for the idea of these "green" diy (do-it-yourself) badge holders. The idea was from a traveler nurse that worked in my unit. A dear friend made her a flower badge out of medicine caps. I found them to be inventive in recycling evil plastic caps. Many of these medicine caps are thrown in the trash and to live forever in a landfill. So why not get creative, save the caps and make a flower out of it. The scary part is, I didn't have to wait 2 or 3 weeks to collect my medicine caps, just 2 work shifts! My goal is to make flower badges for my unit to any coworker who is interested. To glue the pieces together was easy as 5 minutes. Hopefully they will take my offer because throwing away medicine caps are another waste product for an ever growing landfill. (-_-)
